The creators of NonTac are from different walks of life previous to joining the military and met each other through Veteran rehabilitation after leaving the military. This is what sparked NonTac.

Nathan Barnes​

TECH GUY FROM LEVEL 4​

Desmond left the Army with 7 years of experience: 5 years in Infantry, one year as an Administration/Finance Clerk and one year as a Command Support Clerk. During his time in the infantry, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2014-2015, and held various team management positions in his career. Since leaving the military he has 7 years of experience in building businesses, taking on every role of the business at some point from small business through to large business. With a passion for innovation, combined with a desire to help as many people as possible. If there is a tech solution to making our work easier, other people’s lives better, and keeps us growing, Desmond makes it happen.

Dwane Fone

ARTS AND CRAFTS DESIGNER​

Dwane joined the Australian Army on the 2nd of November 2010 as an infantryman. After compleating basic training at Kapooka, he then headed to Singleton School of Infantry to finalise his training. He was then posted to the 2nd Battalion RAR in Townsville. His posting to Townsville lasted for 6 ½ years, while there he conducted a number of training exercises in Australia and overseas. During his time at 2RAR he was a part of the amphibious training due to a roll change. He also had the pleasure of playing bagpipes for 2RAR. In July 2017 he was posted to 6th battalion RAR in Brisbane, while at 6RAR he had the opportunity in 2018 to deploy to Iraq (Taji 7). He was medically discharged from the Army on the 16th of February 2021 compleating a total of 10 years service.
